Casts from the Past

‘Casts from the Past is the companion and sister website to Scenesfromthepast.com, the vintage photo collection of Gene Buel, my grandfather, of Marine City, Michigan.

My name is Scott Buel and I am originally from St. Clair, Michigan. I have a true love of the history of my native state and especially of the Bluewater Area. So much great history happened in Michigan and we have bunches of it captured in an amazing collection that Gene has amassed over the past forty years. From the railroads to Great Lakes freighters to early automobiles, it’s all there!

With this website, I intend to deliver content focused on, well, anything historical that I find interesting. The subject matter covered will range from anniversary dates of special events or inventions or it could be more general, like railroad history or American roots music. I hope to deliver video, audio podcasts, and pictures.
